Candied Bacon
45 Minutes | Serves 2-4
10-12 Slices Hickory Smoked Bacon
¼ cup Dark Brown Sugar Packed
½ tsp Ground Chipotle Chili Pepper
1 tsp Cocoa Powder
Coarse Ground Black Pepper
Orange Liqueur
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Evenly lay the slices of bacon on a sheet pan with a drip grate.
Mix the cocoa, brown sugar and chipotle chili pepper together in a bowl.
Brush the bacon with the orange liqueur. Sprinkle your desired amount of black pepper on top of each piece of bacon. Evenly distribute the sugar/chili/cocoa mixture on top of each slice.
Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 25-30 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the sugar is caramelized. Cool on the drip grate for 5 minutes. Slowly release the bacon slices from the drip grate and transfer to parchment paper. Continue to cool for an additional 10 minutes.
