Roasted Garlic cheesy bread
60 Minutes | Serves 4-6
1 Large French Baguette
1 Whole Garlic Bulb
4-6 oz Freshly Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
¼ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 Tbsp Fresh Oregano Minced
3 Tbsp Salted Butter Melted
3 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil Plus Extra for Seasoning the Garlic
Kosher Salt for Seasoning the Garlic
Coarse Ground Black Pepper for Seasoning the Garlic and Bread
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Cut the garlic bulb in half crosswise to expose the cloves.
Rub a small amount of extra virgin olive oil on the exposed cloves and sprinkle with kosher salt and black pepper.
Wrap the seasoned garlic bulb in aluminum foil.
Bake for 45 minutes.
Slice off the ends of the baguette and split in half lengthwise. Place the baguette halves on a sheet pan.
Combine the melted butter and extra virgin olive oil in a small bowl. Squeeze the roasted garlic bulb to extract the cloves and add to the bowl. Use the back of a fork to mash the garlic cloves. Whisk until all ingredients are incorporated.
Use a spoon to evenly distribute the garlic mixture to cover the two halves of the baguette. Use a pastry brush to fill in any dry spots.
Evenly distribute the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the fresh oregano over the cheese. Add a pinch of black pepper to each half.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is browned.
