Smash Burger with Onion Marmalade
60 Minutes | Serves 4
Prepare your burgers to grill or smash on the griddle. After the burgers are cooked, try topping them with this amazing marmalade.
Orange Onion Marmalade
1 Large Yellow Onion Halved and Thinly Sliced
1 cup Red Wine
¼ cup Balsamic Vinegar
1 Sprig Fresh Rosemary
2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
Zest from Half of an Orange
Juice from Half of an Orange
Kosher Salt and Black Pepper to Taste
Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan. Bring to a boil. Immediately reduce to medium low heat and lightly simmer for 45 minutes to an hour or until the onions are softened and the liquid is almost completely evaporated, by at least 90%. Cool completely before serving.
